Today’s Common Rail injectors can perform multiple injections during a single combustion cycle and inject fuel into the engine at much higher pressures – up to 30,000 psi – through clearances as small as 1 micron. While this brings significant benefits like lower emissions, improved fuel economy and better drivability, it also means they are much more susceptible to wear and tear.
